About doorplate.dev
doorplate.dev matches a Hong Kong address, written any way people write one (English, Chinese, abbreviated, misspelt, in any order), to the building the government's address gazetteer files it under, and lists every part of that address, with the block, floor and flat where a source records them.
Where the answer comes from
Buildings and their addresses come from the Digital Policy Office's Address Lookup Service; floors and flats in public housing come from the same service's unit list. Each part says where it came from, and a part that was only read from what you typed, confirmed by no source, is marked as such.
When the resolver is not sure, the page says how far it got (a street, an estate) and what to add, rather than guessing.
Telling us whether it's right
Under each answer you can say it is right or wrong, and pick the right building if it is listed. Only your choice and the answer's random id are kept: nothing about you, and there is no text box.
Privacy
doorplate.dev is run by Renavon and keeps information according to Renavon's privacy policy. What you type is kept for 12 months to improve the resolver, then deleted. Please do not enter a private individual's address.
